Center of the body. Forgotten support
< Back
4 online classes to learn the basics of somatic learning.
"The goal is a person who is organized in such a way as to move with minimal effort and maximum efficiency—not through muscular strength but by increasing awareness of how movement works."
– Moshe Feldenkrais
About the Course
The center of the body is most prone to sensorimotor amnesia—a state of "forgetting" where the connection between the nervous system and muscles is disrupted. Sensorimotor amnesia manifests as stiffness, pain, restricted breathing, and postural changes. Few people realize that many health problems arise from a distorted self-image stored in the nervous system. These issues can be resolved through retraining.
This course focuses on the abdomen, waist, lower back, as well as the respiratory and pelvic diaphragms. Together, these areas form a "cylinder" that serves as the main support and foundation for all movement.
The lessons will teach you how to manage fatigue, improve mobility, and reduce chronic pain caused by sensorimotor amnesia. Somatics is a modern, gentle methodology that restores the body-mind connection through the establishment of new self-organization patterns.
